Naran is considered as one of the beautiful northern areas
of Pakistan. The forests, meadows and the fields around Naran, give it a view
of hypnotizing landscape. It is situated in the District of Mansehra in one of
the administrative regions of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Naran is an average
sized town of the most enchanting valley, Kaghan. Kaghan is one of the most
attractive and visiting regions of tourist because of its historical hilly
areas and fascinating scenery. Naran is on the upper region of this valley. The
distance between the Naran and the Mansehra city is approximately 119 kilo
meters. The elevation of Naran is about 2409 meters. The length of the route of
Naran from Babusar Top is nearly 70 kilo meters. Babusar Top is one of the
mountain passes of Kaghan Valley in the north.
The weather of Naran is mostly humid and tropical. During
summers, rainfall in Naran is noteworthy but its frequency is greatly increased
in winters. Snow storm and massive snowfall are the features of Naran in
winters. But in the last some years, the rate of snowfall is declined to some
extent. Even in the driest month of Naran, the frequency of rainfall was high.
The usual yearly temperature of Naran is 10.1 °C.
During summers, the climate of Naran is very adorable and
enjoyable. Due to this reasons, tourist are attracted and forced to spend their
holidays in this captivating region of Mansehra. However, the temperature is
increasing and the frequency of rainfall is decreasing in recent years due to
environmental conditions, which is an alarming situation. The rate of snow fall
was so high that it was impossible to reach Naran in June but from the last few
years, it has become very easy to access it in the last of April. The
mesmerizing town of Mansehra remains crowded from the entire summer to the end
of December.
Naran is located on the edge of Kunar River which makes it
more attractive. Kunar River is an epitome area for trout fishing. This fact
increases the worth of Naran. The only main “bazaar” of Naran has all the
hotels, restaurants, markets, and shops. Saif ul Malook Lake, Shogran, Siri
Paye, Lalazar, Kunar River, Makra Top and Babusar Top are near the Naran Town
which add in its value and fascinate the individuals not only from Pakistan but
also from international level.
